Faith: A perfect excuse?

For a respectable number of Christians, especially those just coming to the belief system of following Christ or growing in their knowledge of him, faith is something we struggle with.  It just seems very unnatural to leave our lives to someone we can’t see and for ‘control freaks’, its arguably incompatible with being in total control of one’s life and affairs. Faith is just one of those things that a Christian has a long-time battling with. It’s therefore a noteworthy victory where having faith is no longer a constant struggle. But when does faith become a perfect excuse? Prayer is a ...

Coffee and God.

One of my weaknesses is coffee. I would sometimes take coffee, especially Cappuccino, not because I need it but because I absolutely love the smell and taste of fresh coffee. I find it refreshing in a weird way and the bitter taste of coffee (I prefer it with little cream and without sugar) just makes me happy. Café Nero decided to feed my bad habit by opening a branch on Campus. I already `frequented the place a lot before a branch was opened on campus, but bringing a branch to school just escalated how much I frequented Café Nero. Sometimes, ...

“People like to talk and dish out advice like they can feel your pain. But they don’t know your pain and they can’t feel it. Yet they will talk. Some will say he is not strong enough. Some will say he should suck it up, he is not the first and neither will he be the last, easily forgetting that even if the experience is not peculiar to the person, the pain felt might be unique. Then you get some, the bloody inspirational writers telling you you are strong enough; it’s a phase that will pass and you just have ...

Is he worth fighting for?

I saw a tweet that a certain woman who believed in God, lived for him and wrote about him in an attempt to draw others to him recently renounced her belief in God. I am not sure of the particular reason she gave, but comments were circulating that she did because of the injustice and mental abuse she faced from a renowned pastor and also, the lack of love shown to her by the Christian community. I don’t know if that’s true, but I will use that as the basis of what I want to talk to us about. I am ...

Hello Folks! My sincerest apology for my failure to post on Monday. I hope today's post will make up for it.  I had something in mind to share with us this morning, but while doing my bible study, it became pressed upon my heart to share my notes from this morning's Bible study instead. I believe it's because it's a word in season that one or two people asides me needs.  So kindly allow your spirit to be free and let the words breathe upon you and stir up your spirit. It would be highly appreciated if you share the post.  **     One of my favourites scriptures in ...

Linked Lives.

The day I saw you was not the beginning of a love story It was normal. We chatted and I enjoyed having a thought-provoking, but playful conversation with you. Your mind was not extra-ordinary at the time It was just… I guess brilliant, is what I can use to qualify it But it wasn’t ‘out of the ordinary’ brilliant. ** Our lives intersected during those minutes that we sat in the same room. You on the bed and me, on the stool But that was it It wasn’t meant to be anything more. We left the building and continued chatting, Till we got to the point where we would go our separate ...

The Heart of A King.

ETP made a comment on Monday's post and said she feels the month of August will be an awesome one through MSB. Yes, indeed. It will be an awesome one and to continue in the awesomeness of this month (It has already been so awesome for me. I hope I am not the only one), I have an awesome bible study article written by my very own Smish. Smish is no stranger to us on this blog and you will agree with me that he has been nothing short of a blessing to us on this blog. Imagine having this ...
