You don’t have to feel good.

I do not have sufficient words to encompass the gratitude I feel for the love and commitment that was shown for Our Stories Series. I am so grateful to all the writers that contributed and the beautiful readers that not only read each post, but also shared it. I am grateful to the beautiful souls that showed more enthusiasm for this series than I probably did. I am so grateful to you Paul (Tamed designs) for helping with designs for the series even though you had a crazy amount of work load. Bless your heart love! The series was a product ...

My Story by Jeannelle

Hello!!! I hope you are remaining awesome despite all that is threatening that awesomeness. Our Stories series has not ended. Pardon me for not posting a story on Friday. Because of my failure to post on Friday, I have decided to give you a powerful story that is broken down into two this week. Jeannelle is one of those precious souls whose spoken word and writing is so deep that it either gets you thinking or it makes you take out your writing pad to write. I am very grateful that she has decided to share her story with us today. ...

What really is the big picture?

Akinwale messaged me and was like I have found someone on twitter that you would love. So he gave me the person's twitter handle and I decided to send the person a message. That person turned out to be the awesome Mobolaji. It has been a blessing knowing her and reading encouraging articles from her blog. Yesterday, she had an event called Feed the Homeless in Ghana which I am sure blessed many people.  She is here to bless us with encouraging words today as we come close to the end of #Ourstories ** I’m going to be as plain as possible ...

The Lucky Ones.

Whew!!! The series ends today with a story written by me. It's been quite an exciting and enlightening journey for me at least, I don't know about you. I cannot thank all the writers enough for taking time out of their busy schedules to participate and you amazing people for reading. Thank you guys for speaking out against abuse and trafficking. Silence in this case means compliance and you guys have shown you are not okay with this madness. Thank you Abbey for being more enthusiastic about the series than I think even I was. Not only did you contribute, ...

The New Wife.

This post was supposed to be up yesterday and the series was meant to come to an end with a final entry today, but life is full of uncertainties isn't it? Who knew my laptop would scream 'I need a sister!!!' at me yesterday. Darling, my laptop is talking to you as well as me. Ever since it suffered a terrible fall, it has been begging to be retired. I hope you will all allow God speak to you and replace the laptop (I hope my dad is reading this o).Today's post is a true depiction of what goes on ...

Let us speak!

There is a quote that says 'our lives begin to end when we keep quiet about things that matter' or something like that. Tomi, through his poem is telling us its time to speak for the people who as a result of one reason or the other can't speak for themselves. And that's exactly what this series is about. Join us tomorrow for another episode. Stay beautiful darlings :) *******One, two, she buckles her shoes Three, four, she’s on the news Five, six, she’s only six Seven, eight, we watch and wait Nine, ten, in their nines and tens Eleven, twelve, are the other ages Of young ...

Fireflies

Hey guys! For the series today, Suyi Davies has a story which paints trafficking and abuse in a very deep and interesting way. He addressed both male and female abuse. I really enjoyed reading it (one of the best stories i have read in a while) and I was able to get the issues addressed in the story by reading with an open mind. I hope you do the same :)******Fridays were the worst. The crowd at the joint would be double the usual number and the men would stay longer and leave drunker than usual. They were the same ...

Tola speaks!

I have not been this sad about the death of someone I didn't know personally like I have been since I heard about the death of Dr Myles Munroe. He was such a great man and he really lived a life of purpose, impacted the lives of millions of people he didn't even know. Now, that's the goal. To die empty like I read on Ochucko's blog some minutes ago. The world is mourning the death of this great man whose legacy, words, teachings live on in our hearts. May your soul and those of everyone on the plane rest ...
