It’s Your Life To Lead (chapter 6).

Hello Beautiful Souls. Yes, you have beautiful souls. The fact that you read this blog alone and I hope you tell people about it tells me you have beautiful souls (Yass!!! I am selling my product. we must make this blog have more readers by fire by force).

I am yet to tell you what my book, ‘It’s Your Life To Lead‘ is about, and that’s intentional. But be patient my loves, the information will come to you soon. Because I am such a nice person, I have decided to share two excerpts from the book with you. I will share  some from Chapter 6 with you now and the other later.

Have fun reading. It will be a taboo if you don’t share. If you have not yet subscribed to this blog, you better do before I come after you. *straight face*

Stubbornly Persist!

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talents. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan press on! Has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. ~ Calvin Coolidge

I have a friend that is really stubborn. Stubborn when it comes to her vision for her life. She will not settle for less, no matter how much people urge her to. She has a goal she has been pursuing for a while now and it has not been working out well, but she has not stopped trying. Her courage and persistence are scary, but good. Instead of waiting around, she is training herself, taking classes and working hard to achieve her goal. She has refused to back down even when dream busters say it to her face that her dream is not exactly working out. The amazing thing though is, I am too confident it will work out for her because she is willing to fight for her success.

She is willing to learn from her mistakes. I will admit there are times she gets discouraged and feels like giving up. The difference between her and any ordinary person though is, she reminds herself of her goals and gets up again when she is feeling down. That is someone that is leading her life and someone I will like to emulate. I did an analysis of some successful people I know and there is something that is really common among them. They refuse to stay down when they are put down from the outside. They find something to draw their strength from and determine not to live a mediocre life.

A typical example would be the Google story.

Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D students at Stanford University in 1996. The first funding for Google was in August 1998, in the form of a contribution of $100,000 given before Google was incorporated. Early in 1999, Brin and Page decided that the search engine they had developed was taking too much time and somewhat distracting them from their academic pursuits, so they went to George Bell, the CEO of Excite (a popular search engine company at the time),and offered to sell Google to him for $1 million, He rejected their offer. Staying determined, they held on to it, and in the year 2013, they had a total asset of over $110billion.

To lead your life, you need to have a vision and you cannot afford to settle for less no matter how tempting ‘the less’ looks. Like my mum would say when she is shopping, people will present all sort of things to you and tell you they are good. But she will only smile and say, “Thank you” (at times when she is really tired, she just ignores). You do not buy things because the sellers are persuasive, especially when you know the quality you want. If you buy something because it is cheap and flashy, when you get home, you would become angry with yourself for settling for less. I think it is the same with life. When you have a vision of what you want your life to be, make plans and do not settle for less because it seems easier.

Persistence will make you lead your life in the best possible way because persistence will always tell you, you can do better, there is an endless pit of possibilities in you and if you stay on, and refuse to give up, your present and future will smile at you.
