I love dreamers because I also dream a lot. More especially, I love people that take active steps in order to ensure the dreams are materialized or they are atleast working on something that builds up to the fulfillment of their dreams. Dreaming is important. I definitely agree that it is, but I also know that its importance gets reduced to nothing when no actions are taken. I personally believe a dreamer soon becomes an ordinary person like the next door neighbour that has no dreams when he does nothing about the dreams. The next door neighbour is the type that just wakes up each day and is glad about that. He is happy to accept whatever life dishes to him and he easily results to fatalism, gleefully singing ‘Que Sara, sara, whatever will be will be’. Refusing to see that he is in control of his life and he has the power to change what life has planned for him. But then again, there are no dreams. There is just satisfaction with life. Which is not bad, but I bet that kind of life soon becomes dull, unless you are fine with just waking up and sleeping.
To be honest with you, this post will mostly be about me rambling. Maybe this will put you off or maybe it will make you want to keep reading. I do hope you keep reading because I am sure something will come out of this ramble.
What was I saying about the dreamer? Yes, my head is back on track. So you know how I was telling you about a dreamer becoming an ordinary person like his neighbour, well, I am going back there. A dreamer soon becomes an ordinary person because dreaming without doing anything is almost useless in my opinion (you are free to disagree) and there is almost no difference between that kind of dreamer and someone that doesn’t dream. Maybe the fact that a dreamer has his dreams to keep his heart burning is a significant difference though. But what is the point if all you do is wake up, sleep and let whatever will be, be without you using your dreams to change the direction of your life? Just saying (Don’t worry. I am mostly talking to myself).
So this rant didn’t just come from the blue. I was at dinner with some of my favourite people when I decided to reply a friend’s message. He was talking to me about dreams. Then he said something that really got me thinking and that’s what ignited my ramble. He said ‘Hunger and lack are no supporters of dreams’. I really did agree with him. I reflected on what he said and had a conversation with myself, but I used messages to him as a medium to do that.
I would and have most likely told you that you need determination, fortitude, courage and many important life jackets to hold on to your dreams and work towards achieving them. The things that I told you are true, but I doubt that I really talked to you about the importance of money. I know we all know the importance of money. Even my two year old niece knows a bit about this. No matter how blind we act or how much of a ‘faith’ people that we are, we cannot deny the importance of money. When you are counting resources that you’ll use to do things, money would most likely be the first or first in your list (yes, first or first. If it comes second, then I hail you). A lot of people including myself have let the lack of money stop them and honestly, I get it. It can be very difficult to put structures in place towards building that dream without money. Dreams are expensive and in as much as you require the courage to even embark on that journey and determination plus fortitude to keep going when you will rather give up, you also need money. Faith is needed, but even that can sometimes be tricky without money. So I need money and so do you (Unless you have an abundance of it. I can send my account details to you).
Anyway, I am going to end my ramble by just sharing exactly what I shared with my friend with you. Forgive me if I didn’t make sense. I don’t always make sense to myself (I am not even joking).
Here it is:
Dreams are beautiful and yes, there are a lot of things that determination, fortitude and courage to go into the unknown will do for you. But you also need money. Money is an important resource that can’t be denied. But maybe that’s where faith comes in. faith that you have put your dreams in the hands of the being that has everything and can do everything. Faith that he will see that the dream you have placed in his hands will materialize. I guess that’s really the point of faith. You don’t have all you need, but you still step out knowing that you have someone that has gone ahead of you and is with you every step of the way
Joshua was told not to be discouraged for about three times in Deuteronomy 31. I guess it’s one of the things faith does. Faith keeps us encouraged. When the dreams are so crazy and we seem to have everything else but money. Faith keeps us encouraged. Afterall, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith keeps hope alive and with determination and the other life jackets, in addition to faith, we are able to have hope against hope.
The point of this post is, yes you need money and yes money can stop you, but keeping courage, determination and especially faith in whatever it is (preferably Jesus) alive gives you a better chance of getting money. I believe so. You are free to tell me otherwise in the comment box.
P;S: Today is my birthday. Just thought I should let you guys know. And also to thank you for being an amazing part of my life through this blog.5
